First, I want to apologize for skipping my Thursday night blog. As we all know, Thanksgiving takes three days to prepare. And I was no exception to this rule. I am originally from West Monroe, Louisiana. I moved from Louisiana to Arkansas, eight years ago. And because of Covid, I decided to stay home (my parents are elderly, and I did not want to put them at risk.). However, I have some really amazing friends who invited me to their Thanksgiving feast. To give them a real Louisiana treat, I made gumbo. For those that do not know, gumbo is not a soup. The rou (Roo) thickens like white glue. Once the rou is complete (it is a four hour process, because I like mine a deep dark-brown). I then add sausage, shrimp, and chicken. You can add crab and crawfish (crayfish) in this as well. If you only like chicken, then you can go with just that too. Spending Thanksgiving with friends is nice, but there is something to be said about family and the holidays. It is not complete nor the same. I have not seen my family since August, and the holidays makes it difficult for everyone. However, for those that were away from home or at home, I hope you had a great time. I hope that you and your family ate well, sang loud, danced, and above all played fun-filled games. On that note, I am going to close here. My next post will be an update on Karl Marx and more of my thoughts about this man who founded socialism. So far, I am not liking him at all. He is quite childish, winey, and cannot seem to hold a job. He tends to blame this on other people rather than himself. I will go into more about this later in my next blog. Next round of holiday fun is Christmas, Hanukkah, and a brand new year! Are you ready to leave 2020 behind for good? What was your best part of 2020.
